I've just signed up for Virtuoso Travel Week again in Vegas this August - where the world's best travel advisors, cruise lines, hotels, tour operators, and destination management companies all come together to focus and learn and re-connect with what is happening in the world of travel.
I'm also thinking about David Bowie this morning - Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes. (Video and lyrics below - you're welcome for the ear worm!)
First, we hear Westjet was bought by Onex and then we heard Transat was in an exclusivity discussion with Air Canada to discuss purchase. This comes after recent issues with other airlines like Jet Airways in India. And concern about Avianca as well as news that Delta airlines receiving some attention for union busting.
There’s a world of tumult in the airline industry – but, of course, that’s nothing new. There is always lots happening in the world of travel, and there’s never a dull moment involved when you’re helping “keep the world moving” – which is essentially what I do, as a travel advisor.

Dashing through the Danube
River Cruise for 2019 Christmas Markets

We are SOLD OUT on our allotment for our December 6, 2019 river cruise -Dashing through the Danube with Shepherd's Fashions, CityLine's Lynn Spence, Live Smart's Kathy Smart, and Inspiration in Action's Kathie Donovan.
BUT......
There's a possibility one or two cabins might get released.
There were a couple of cabins that were sold to "outsiders" (before we took over the ship with our large group), and Uniworld is reaching out to those folks.
If you want to be on the wait list in case these already confirmed folks decide to move to another date, please email me straight away.
We'll be Dashing through the Danube, and checking out the Christmas markets on a river cruise sailing from Budapest to Regensburg with U by Uniworld. Besides the great river cruise experience, we'll be getting:

Upcoming SOLO Travel Chats

We've planned some "Travel as a Solo, but not Alone" - coffee and confab gatherings - as well as some adventure travel evenings.

I've had some interest in returning to the morning gatherings in the east end of Ottawa at Cafe Latte Cino.
There's free parking, and accessible entry - plus the coffee and food is yummy. And I love supporting independent coffee houses. And - they've just been named Ottawa's favourite breakfast and brunch place by "Ottawa Life."
Join us at a solo traveler coffee & confab gathering. These are really informal gatherings without a formal presentation. It's a chance to meet and greet, and share some travel tips and travel ideas.

Other events coming up at Ale will have adventure travel evenings, focusing on the solo traveler. Perhaps you'd like to go to Egypt or Morocco, or maybe Africa? I've sent some groups to Morocco, as well as Vietnam and Cambodia, with On the Go Tours.
On the Go has always been solo-friendly - on all their tours, they offer a 'share' program where they will match you up with another solo traveler of the same sex. They also have low solo supplements if you want your own room. But they've just introduced a new iteration too where they'll offer special solo traveler dates on select tours on select dates where they'll only have solo travelers, and each solo traveler can have their own room at no extra
charge.

A delicious “Foodie Moroccan Tour “ experience !

I signed up for an “insolite” Foodie Moroccan Tour” and I recently came back. Very exotic and cultural tour, meeting locals, admiring the beauty of the landscape more so the one night stay in the Sahara ( camp in individual tents,
Shower and toilet.... saharian luxe!). Overall accommodation, Riad chaine, very decent accommodation often traditional Moroccan style. Transfers both in Casablanca and Marrakech were well organized. Tour leader, a Moroccan fellow, very knowledgeable, attentive to the group (12 persons). The only downside to the trip: too much bus driving: from 6 to 9hrs/day last day 13 hrs...to get to Marrakech. Thank you to Sheila Gallant for advising and assisting me in the preparation of the
trip.
Also Sheila’s travel presentations are very informative and, Sheila is ready to investigate any question I would strongly recommend Peregrine Tours and, I would certainly book another trip in the future. Great tour, fantastic experience. A Canadian Globetrotter.
