Happy Father's Day!
I hope you're celebrating and/or remembering all the inspirational men and fathers in your life - the father you have and/or had, as well as the uncles and brothers and grandfathers along the way. My father and my father-in-law are no longer with us, but they taught us all lessons to last a lifetime, and I'm forever grateful. And it's wonderful to watch my husband, Bill, be a terrific dad to our girls.
As we miss those that have gone, the memories made with them emphasizes the importance of celebrating moments along the way. And making memories whenever you can.
I've done a series of Travel Tuesday talks now - If You Could Take Only ONE More Trip....The biggest thing coming out of it is that we all are keen to travel again. And when we can travel again, we should TAKE THE BIG TRIP FIRST.

Travel advisors love cocktails!

Yes, it’s true - especially during these stressful days of CoVid19, when the world has stopped moving. But those of us in the travel world do know we will travel again soon. So we dream today, travel tomorrow.
The reason I love cocktails (and/or mocktails) is:

Consuming an adult beverage with my colleagues and clients generally involves hanging and shooting the breeze. It’s a great way to build relationships and get to know each other better.

When I am having a cocktail with my travel colleagues, we usually have all travelled to an industry trade show that involves intensive updates and training. So the cocktail signifies the end of the formal learning day, but it also is generally the time we get into some interesting insights about business and a destination, and when we find that a destination often comes alive by hearing in person from someone who is an expert in their field. The passion and purpose of why they do what they do
comes through even more in a more relaxed setting.

When I host my own travel events with clients, I generally have them in a relaxed setting so we can learn, discover more about a destination/ mode of travel, and get to know each other better over a beverage too.

I can’t travel to @virtuosoltd travel week to meet with my travel colleagues in person this year, nor can I hold in person client events right now. So I’m bringing the two together. I’ve been hosting online zoom Travel Tuesday calls with some supplier friends and clients at 5 pm est - cocktail hour. We’ve been talking about “What if I could take only ONE more trip” - with the idea you should always #TakeTheBigTripFirst . It’s a relaxed but educational hour, featuring one of my travel supplier friends who will share their passion.

In a post-pandemic world, river cruising will become even more popular than it has been in the past. Here's a news article that shows bookings are up 30% in 2021.

And there's no wonder with the largest river cruise ship carrying only 190 people. Why the popularity already in booking? There's already a pent up demand to travel.
