Happy Sunday!
There's a new energy. Do you feel it?
Sure, we're still in lockdown. Ontario is under a stay-at-home order, even - mind you, the -24 Celsius we had yesterday (with the wind) encourages you to stay in bed. And our Prime Minister is telling us to cancel travel plans for the winter and spring. So, when we peak out from under the bedcovers, we look for the light.
If you watched the inauguration of Joe Biden this week, you saw light. We heard what has been touted to be one of the best inaugural speeches ever. (Read text Biden.) And a young 22 year old poet named Amanda Gorman reminded us that we can still rise, and that we should be the light. (Watch her speech below. Read the poem here Poet )
And #BerniesMittens became a meme. The senator from Vermont knows cold (like we do). He dressed warmly for the inauguration in a no-nonsense outfit so he could focus on the day, wearing mittens made by a constituent. And the internet went wild for Bernie. It was like a great release - something to have fun with, something to share the light - and the warmth. I even got him at Virtuoso travel seek (see picture here). No doubt you've seen all the pictures. Here are two of my favourites from Big
Bang Theory and Friends. Of course, Senator Sanders jumped in and created sweatshirts with the meme, with sales going to a Vermont food bank. They sold out in short order. But Bernie is still travelling around the world - in the spirit of light and fun.

Inauguration

Northwest Territories - Northern Lights

One of my western colleagues at Vision Travel has put together a really special group to visit the Northern Lights in Northwest Territories this March.
Actually, she put together this small group with a re-known Canadian wildlife photographer, Dr. Wayne Lynch, around the Equinox with March 18-23, 2021. It quickly sold out.
She's now looking to do a second week of March 24-29, 2021, and is designing the trip to align with the Equinox to see the Northern Lights in Yellowknife (one of the top 3 places in the world to see Northern Lights). The photographer she is working with is a well-known Canadian wildlife specialist too, Dr. Wayne Lynch. http://waynelynch.ca/welcome.html
My colleague is reconfirming the last bits together on the pricing for the second week, but it looks like 6d, 5n for about $3600 Cdn/p for double and about $3900 Cdn for solo (excluding air, meals; including 3 Northern Lights Aurora viewing outings and some other special things). A winter gear package is available.
The trip only goes ahead if advisories lifted – and – if not, trip can be moved to March 2022. Let me know if you'd like the pdf for this trip, and would like to consider doing the trip for the second week of March 24-29, 2021.

Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are becoming stressed from being locked down at home.!
I was just talking about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my coffee, and we all agreed that things are getting bad.
I didn't mention any of this to the washing machine, because she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING.!.!
Certainly, I couldn't share with the fridge, because he's been acting cold and distant.!
In the end, the iron straightened me out! She said the situation isn't all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out.!
The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic - told me to just 'suck it up buttercup'.!
But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will eventually all blow over.!
The toilet looked a bit flushed but didn't say anything when I asked its opinion.
But the front door said I was becoming unhinged and the doorknob told me to get a grip.!.!
You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to 'pull myself together'.!
We will survive!! Stay safe and well dear friends...
