Hello there - did you watch Stanley Tucci's "Searching for Italy." last Sunday? Part 3 of the 6 part series is on CNN at 9 pm est tonight. Read https://www.lushlife.ca/stanely-tuccis-searching-for-italy/ . It's already been picked up for a second season. The first episode on Naples, and the second on Rome were fantastic.

And, since we're still not able to travel freely, today, I'll recommend a different show to inspire you. This time, a movie. Have you seen "The Dig?" The one-liner is pretty simple "An archaeologist embarks on the historically important excavation of Sutton Hoo in 1938." It's a very simple, quiet, and slow-moving story on Netflix set in Britain. But it's incredible. It stars Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes. It's worth a watch. The story of Mulligan and Fiennes persevering with
their quest, even in the face of increasing opposition and a growing involvement in the war. Besides English manors, history, quiet, and archaeology, I love the underdog nature of the story, and their sheer determination to keep going

As a British TV addict and former archaeology nerd, Netflix’s “The Dig,” based on John Preston’s 2007 historical novel of the same name, gets me on a remarkable number of levels. So much so that, frankly, when I first saw the trailer, I thought someone was pulling my leg.
You’re telling me Netflix is giving me a dark academia film about archaeology set in the English countryside during World War II starring Carey Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes and a few doomed romances? Has Christmas come early? ...this film is real, and it is a delight; it’s beautifully shot, and the script leaves little to be desired.
And I'd strongly agree with that. It's a treasure.

Thinking of all of the connections I have made in the world of travel, as I continue to continuously improve my knowledge and skills during this quieter time. It was great to meet Peter Greenberg at Virtuoso Travel Week a few years ago.

I have some clients booked on a trip with one of my western colleagues at Vision Travel. My colleague, Kim, put together a really special group to visit the Northern Lights in Northwest Territories this March. Unfortunately, it's unlikely air and land restrictions will be lifted in time for us to enjoy in 2021 (at least with air schedules), so we've made the difficult decision to move to 2022.
Anyone who had been booked on this small group with a re-known Canadian wildlife photographer, Dr. Wayne Lynch, around the Equinox for March 18-23, 2021 has been moved to 2022. Everyone moved who could. And given the demand, Kim and Wayne have agreed to do a second week.
So, we've added a second week - kindly note the 2nd departure for March 24-29, 2022. We have to reconfirm pricing for 2022, but this second week won't last long. So, if you were on the fence in doing it in 2021, now you have another option to go in 2022.
Kim and Wayne have designed the trip to align with the Equinox to see the Northern Lights in Yellowknife (one of the top 3 places in the world to see Northern Lights). The photographer she is working with is a well-known Canadian wildlife specialist too, Dr. Wayne Lynch. http://waynelynch.ca/welcome.html
My colleague is reconfirming the last bits together on the pricing for the 2022 second week, but it looks like 6d, 5n for about $3600 Cdn/p for double and about $3900 Cdn for solo (excluding air, meals; including 3 Northern Lights Aurora viewing outings and some other special things). A winter gear package is available.
