Hiya,
Hope you are well?! We seem to be finally turning a corner with this CoVid thing - can you feel it? We passed the one-year mark. One year ago today, we didn't realize how abruptly and wildly our lives would change. But now, vaccines are well underway in the US, and they are finally coming in Canada. While we're all still being cautious and taking needed precautions, there does appear to be a new level of optimism. Folks are starting to really think about travelling again.
While my American colleagues always seemed to still have clients travelling throughout 2020, most Canadians (at least my clients) were staying put. 2020 trips were rebooked to 2021, and now some 2021 trips are being rebooked to 2022 (if and as needed), but - I'm happy to say that the first week of March was quite busy with brand new bookings for clients. We're starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel, and there is definitely pent up demand to travel.
And, the pent up demand has people booking bigger trips. Hey - you couldn't travel for a year or so - so - when you can again, make it count, right? Bucket list trips are certainly on everyone's minds. And trips of a lifetime are getting planned.
This week, I've been planning trips to Australia (including a land trip and several Oceania circumnavigation trips), Japan (including group tours and customized trips), and I'm working with a couple of groups to get back on the rivers and expeditions to Antarctica. as well as South
Africa.
I have a fantastic Travel Tuesday this week too with AMA Waterways - we'll be talking about their new SEVEN RIVERS, FOURTEEN COUNTRIES,
ONE EPIC JOURNEY in 2023.
And on Wednesday, March 10th we have a virtual event with Rocky Mountaineer.

Circumnavigation of Australia

Interested in a circumnavigation of Australia with Oceania cruises in December 2022? This is a 35 day sailing from December 12, 2022-January 16, 2023.
I reserved 4 cabins for clients on Wednesday, and have some others looking at this too. This was selling very briskly (went on sale at 9 am on Wednesday), and it will, no doubt, sell out. Many categories were waitlisted within a couple of hours of the sailing opening for sale.

I have some clients booked on a trip with one of my western colleagues at Vision Travel. My colleague, Kim, put together a really special group to visit the Northern Lights in Northwest Territories this March. Unfortunately, it's unlikely air and land restrictions will be lifted in time for us to enjoy in 2021 (at least with air schedules), so we've made the difficult decision to move to 2022.
Anyone who had been booked on this small group with a re-known Canadian wildlife photographer, Dr. Wayne Lynch, around the Equinox for March 18-23, 2021 has been moved to 2022. Everyone moved who could. And given the demand, Kim and Wayne have agreed to do a second week.
So, we've added a second week - kindly note the 2nd departure for March 24-29, 2022. We have to reconfirm pricing for 2022, but this second week won't last long. So, if you were on the fence in doing it in 2021, now you have another option to go in 2022.
Kim and Wayne have designed the trip to align with the Equinox to see the Northern Lights in Yellowknife (one of the top 3 places in the world to see Northern Lights). The photographer she is working with is a well-known Canadian wildlife specialist too, Dr. Wayne Lynch. http://waynelynch.ca/welcome.html
My colleague is reconfirming the last bits together on the pricing for the 2022 second week, but it looks like 6d, 5n for about $3600 Cdn/p for double and about $3900 Cdn for solo (excluding air, meals; including 3 Northern Lights Aurora viewing outings and some other special things). A winter gear package is available.
