2. River Cruise Corner - First Dibs Please -Uniworld Women-themed Cruise
And, in keeping with the wellness theme of this newsletter, let me give you an update.
As I've noted in my river cruise corner for the past two weeks, I'm doing a special cruise with Uniworld for next October 2024.
This cruise will have a wellness theme - but again with the soft approach to wellness. Remember, think "healthy living" and
"self-care."
And now, I'm ready to move forward with my Uniworld cruise. Pricing is now set. I'll be emailing those who asked for "First Dibs" later today and tomorrow - and if you've asked to be on that list,
you'll get "first dibs" on the sailing date and cabins. (And if you are interested, but haven't yet asked me, email me today sheila@lushlife.ca and say "first dibs".)
I'm thrilled that Uniworld has won top river cruise this year at Virtuoso Travel Week this August - sharing the gold, as it were, as AMA Waterways (another river cruise company that I love, and I am preferred partners with) won top river cruise 9 years in a row. I honestly think both companies are exceptional products.
If you've followed me and my newsletter for a while, you know that I took a large solo women's group with Uniworld (it's then U River product) to go "Dashing through the Danube" in December 2019. That awful CoVid19 bug interfered with the best-laid plans to return to Europe for a repeat engagement, but - we're game on now for 2024. And this time, with
Uniworld parent company - the 5* mother company of U River's 4* little sister. (Sadly, U River has not survived the pandemic.)
See https://www.virtuoso.com/current-news/supplier/uniworld-boutique-river-cruises/Uniworld-Wins-Best-River-Cruise-Line-for-2023-at-V As noted https://news.paxeditions.com/news/buzz/location-huge-opportunities-growing-virtuoso-canada-brings-talent-strategy-vegas in the recent travel trade publication, PaxNews article, that interviewed me, I'm working with Uniworld to build a women’s-themed cruise that will also cater to solo female travellers. See the picture posted in the PaxNews article above - From left: Michelle Palma, EVP, sales, North America, Uniworld; Sheila Gallant-Halloran, owner, Lush Life Travel;
Ellen Bettridge, president & CEO, Uniworld.
And this week - I was interviewed by the Toronto Star about women's wellness getaways, and why it's becoming so popular. So, of course, I was talking about the women-themed cruise I'm working on with
Uniworld.
Does a women-themed cruise that caters to solo travellers interest you? Pricing is now set, and I'm talking to some folks to see if they might join us onboard - stay tuned to announcements this week!
Some features:
- There will be a limited number of solo cabins with the normal solo supplement halved for any ladies who want their own space.
- Ladies can
bring their own travel partner - maybe share the fun, and ask your sister, daughter/ mother, granddaughter/ mother, girlfriend, or neighbour to share a cabin. (And, important side note - for those who'd travelled with me on the the last women-themed river cruise in 2019, the ship I'm working with this this time has a large queen bed that physically divides into two twin beds. No privacy partition this time!)
- For solo ladies who don't have their own
travel partner, there will also an opportunity for solo ladies to share a cabin (to help manage costs).
- PLUS - I have some some early booking bonuses, and also a pay-in-full discount too.
Do
I have your attention?

soon as we launch.
