Hello, !
Happy Friday.
I got access to a private and unadvertised sale on the AMA Magna for this November 19-26, 2023, and just had to share, and I didn't want to wait until the Sunday newsletter.
If you're so inclined to try THE top-rated river cruise ship of the 300 river cruise ships in Europe, this is your chance - and at specially discounted
pricing. And - you can get a Taste of the Christmas markets in Europe too.
I can offer you this
specially discounted pricing as my client, given my preferred partner relationship with AMA. There was a large group booked on this date that had to cancel due to a family emergency. (Awful situation for them, of course. Fantastic opportunity for you.)
Do you know about the AMA Magna? It is AMA Waterway's innovation for river cruising, and is a double-wide river cruise ship.
Most river cruise ships are the
exact same size in terms of width, length, and height - but the AMA Magna is double-wide. It can only fit on the Danube River, so that's where it sails.
- What makes the Magna so special? Included Benefits:
Multiple Dining Venues, including the Main Restaurant, The Chef’s Table, Jimmy’s and the Al Fresco Restaurant - Hand
selected wine and beer with meals, plus Sip & Sail cocktail hour most evenings
- Split-level lounge creating intimate pockets in which to relax unhindered
- Heated sun deck pool with whirlpool and sky bar
- Multi-functional, expansive Zen Wellness Studio with space to accommodate group exercise classes led by a qualified Wellness Host
- Unlimited Wi-Fi—at no additional charge
- Salon services, including manicures, pedicures, hair and massage
(additional costs
apply) - Low draft with quieter, more fuel-efficient engines
- No parallel docking with other ships in most ports along the Danube
- Exclusive Concierge Golf Program offered on select sailings
- and - the Magna has pickleball court - see https://www.amawaterways.com/explore/wellness/pickleball
- Here is the ship deck plan https://www.amawaterways.ca/ships/amamagna-river-cruise-ship
- Here is the itinerary – for
Nov.19-26, 2023 https://www.amawaterways.ca/destination/europe-river-cruises/2023/magna-on-the-danube/dates-prices
And - here is an overview of the normal pricing (and there are even cabins on this same sailing and ship going for the normal pricing), and I've listed that next to my special private sale pricing for double occupancy pricing (2 people in a cabin). This pricing is in CAD, but USD is available. (Are you a solo traveler? Ask me for pricing.)
Category D: normally $5,683/p cad ==> now $2,803/p

AB: normally $7,662/p cad ==> now $4,062/p

Category SA: normally $9,245/p cad ==> now $5,425/p
Category GS: normally$14,127/p cad ==>now $8,667/p
- This price includes port fees of $283.50/p
- This price excludes the professional fee (reduced from $125/p to $75/p + g/hst), onboard gratuities (estimated at 125 euros/person), international air, transfers, pre and post cruise add ons (although packages are available for Munich or Prague as a pre-cruise, or Budapest as a post-cruise), and vacation insurance.
(Kindly note - Pricing and availability subject to change without notice, and the private sale can be withdrawn at any time. Payment in full is required to book. Kindly note this special pricing applies to new bookings only. It is not combinable with other discounts such as past passenger, future cruise benefits, or Virtuoso onboard credits. This is a private
sale, with special pricing, and not even available for you to book through AMA Waterways directly.)
Kindly note, this cruise date is over American Thanksgiving - so, they will serve a turkey dinner on the
Thursday (just as AMA does for Canadian Thanksgiving in October.)
Also kindly note - the Christmas markets will not be open everywhere - as the Christmas markets tend to align with the beginning of advent, which aligns with American Thanskgiving almost.
So - the cruise starts in Vilshofen on November 19th, goes to Passau on the 20th.. but Germany's Christmas markets tend to open a little later. On the 21st, you'll be in Linz, so if you head to Salzburg the markets will be open. And by the time you get to Vienna on the
24th, and Budapest on November 25th, the markets will be open. You can gauge the markets with this calendar https://christmasmarketsineurope.com/christmas-markets-in-europe-dates
I did a cruise in Europe this exact same week last year, and in 2022, I left my Ottawa November weather down coat in the ship closet, and wore puffer jacket to do the markets when they started opening. I had a wonderful time - and - certainly got a Taste of the
Christmas markets.
I can also send you more detail on the AMA Magna.
Let me know if you'd like to go!
