NOTE:

On the Seine, AMA sails slightly smaller French balcony ships than you might have experienced on the Danube or Rhine. So, while there are cabins of different sizes and locations that determine the price of a certain French balcony, the AMA Dante does not have exterior balcony cabins. However, the French balconies on the Dante ship will work out terrifically for an early November sailing.   (There are fixed window cabins on the lower deck as well.)

In terms of cabins, the AMA Dante has entry level window view, a balcony, or suite.

The entry level window views essentially have a window like you might have in your home in a basement. A entry level window, or fixed window, lets in light, but you cannot open it. You have to stand up to look out the window (although the cruise fixed window is probably at about 5 feet high off the ground, whereas a home basement window might be 7 feet or more). This category cabin is sometimes called a “swan view” – because when you look out the window, you are looking at the water level, and if there are swans on the river, you will see them swim by. With a fixed window cabin, when you stand up, you are looking out at the water, but when you lie on the bed, you are essentially lying under the water line. 

On the AMA Dante, there is only one type of balcony - the French Balcony, which is sometimes called a Juliette window. Think of it being like a sliding door to a deck you might have in your home. A French Balcony extends the space of the cabin in the sense that you can fully open it, look outside, and get fresh air. You can pull your cabin chair up to the door and have the feeling of outside at the doorway. But, with a French Balcony, there is nowhere or no space for you to sit or stand outside the door. There is a steel guard to prevent you from falling in the water, but you can peek your head outside to look around. 

There are also suites. 
 

INCLUSIONS

AMA includes beer & wine with lunch and dinner, and an evening Sip 'n Sail cocktail hour. They also include a Chef's Table experience 7 course meal pairing food and wine onboard for all guests to try once, complimentary. And AMA includes all shore excursions offered in the cruise cost. Wifi is also included.

LAND PACKAGE 

Prices in Paris are as follows:

•    2 nights Paris (Pre-Cruise) – C$1,293 p.p. based on double occupancy

•    2 nights Paris (Pre-Cruise) – C$1,873 p.p. based on solo occupancy

•    the hotel is always subject to change (based on availability/ inventory) 

•    currently, AMA has negotiated space with the Marriott Opera in Paris

Land package pricing includes the transfer to and from the ship, breakfast, a city tour, as well as the AMA cruise manager with you at all times.

AMA’s land program includes the hotel with breakfast, a city tour, and transfer to ship. It also has the services of the cruise manager.

AIR PROMO

AirPlus is applicable to select Europe and Egypt sailings within 330 days prior to departure with a current retail promotion and on all Europe sailings outside of 330 days of departure. Advertised AirPlus rates may not be available for your preferred airline, flight, routing, or travel dates

Booking air with AMA includes all transfers.

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the air plus deposit ($450/person for economy or premium economy, or $700/person for business, with balance at final payment date), and while AMA works with major airlines, and does their best to have reasonable connections and departure/ arrival times, the discounted air package is working with AMA's contracts with the airlines. 

The promo does not allow you to pick the airline or routing that you want (although, out of Canada, it is often Air Canada). But if you want control over airline or routing (e.g., you want Air France, or you want KLM business, etc.), this promo might not be the best option for you. (The Ama air promo will likely be the most economical air rates however.) 

If you want more control over airline or routing, or definitely want to be on the same flights as other folks traveling, then booking "live" air with AMA's air department at full market price, OR having my air department book your air, OR you booking your own air will give more control.
